Starting 2015, there seems to be a skyrocketing level of interest in travel and leisure. All of a sudden, people from all over the world found passionate attraction to exploring different parts of the world. Let’s admit it, our newsfeeds and other social media platforms are always full of posts about our friends travelling to different places.
Apart from travelling, people have also ventured to trying things that are out of the ordinary. Skydiving and other extreme sports were suddenly popular among the younger generations. What was amazing with this sudden shift in interest is that people started mixing different activities in the hopes of coming up with new and exciting endeavors to explore.
Travelling and extreme adventure used to be two different hobbies, with diverse disciplines in their own respects. But people have been so innovative that they have found a way to combine traveling and adventure seeking.
Several tour providers have sprouted online offering packages that provide sightseeing combined with thrills like rock climbing, rappelling, ziplining, skydiving, and even cliff trekking.
In a video posted to Facebook by a page called What We See, we are introduced to the Kalavantin Durg Trek. This is involves traversing to an extremely steep hill in India, which is 2300 feet in height and has a sheer drop of 700 feet. Based on those numbers alone, we can all say that this trek is not for the faint of heart.
With the height of the cliff, the footpath takes approximately six hours to climb down. That takes a lot of physical strength, and of course, guts. Judging from the looks of it on the video, the cliff would definitely give you the thrill of your life as you have nothing to depend on but your bravery and balance.
No hand rails are provided, nor any protective railings to keep you from falling off the edge. And while the foot path has been sculpted to resemble steps of a stairway, there is still no guarantee that the whole experience would be easy.
People who have experienced it say that it was the most exhilarating experience of their life, but people from the internet had mixed reactions. Gathering over 43 million views since its posting, people have commented on how risky this trail was. Others even called out the group, telling them they were too foolish to risk their lives for a taste of adventure.
Some thrill seekers, on the other hand, found the video exciting. They even commented that the experience looks very enticing and adventurous. How about you, would you have a go at this?
