The phrase “be careful” may be overrated for most of us, but let’s admit it; we all need to be reminded through these words more often than not. Mishaps happen almost all the time and the bad part about it is we can never predict it. It does not choose a time, nor does it choose people to whom it will happen.
Whenever you are faced with such occurrence, how exactly do react? Do you go on calculating your movements to make sure that no further harm is caused? Or do you go on auto-pilot and let your instincts act on behalf of you?
While no one can really be sure when misfortunate incidents can happen, we can always try to avoid it. As they say, prevention is better than cure. However, there are just times, when these incidents occur as a result of other people’s carelessness and you are just stuck with nothing to do but face the impending mishap.
A viral video has recently caught and alarmed everyone’s attention on social media. In it, a group of construction workers are seen working on a half-built structure. It looked like a normal scene in a construction site, with workers doing their respective jobs on the second floor of the unfinished building.
Everyone was busy putting on more concrete, working on the steel work of the frames, others trying to construct what seemed to be walls of the upper floor. It looked fine, and the building looked steady until suddenly, the unexpected happened: the unfinished building collapsed.
It took everyone by surprise. The workers didn’t even have time to react nor run for their lives as the floor just started caving toward the ground and in just a snap, half of it is gone. Everyone was in a state of shock, but kudos to these workers for trying their hardest to rescue those who fell with the flooring.
Looking back and examining the video, you would see that this was actually something you might expect to happen. The foundation used to support the concrete flooring were just bamboos, and in the beginning of the video, you can already see the middle part of the flooring slightly sagging.

We can only hope that nobody got hurt during this incident. Let this be a reminder to everyone to always take precautionary measures especially in sites like these where mishaps like the one in the video are prone to happen.
